Managed PostgreSQL, MySQL and Valkey
Managed PostgreSQL, MySQL and Valkey databases with daily backups, TLS connections and access limited to the sources you trust. Billed by the hour.
A production database with backups, TLS connections and access limited to the servers you trust. No installs, no tuning, no disk alerts at 3 a.m.
- Backups you do not have to script: Backups run on a schedule. Restore from the dashboard when you need to.
- Trusted sources only: Nothing can connect until you allow it. Add your servers, apps or office address to the list.
- TLS on every connection: Traffic between your app and the database is encrypted in transit.
- Resize without migrating: Move to a bigger plan or add disk when your data grows. The connection details stay the same.
- Users and databases from the dashboard: Create databases and users with their own passwords, so each app only gets the access it needs.
- Plugs into App Platform: Attach a database to an app and we set DATABASE_URL or REDIS_URL, with a user for that app.
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect from my app?
Copy the connection details from the dashboard and add your server or app to the trusted sources. Any standard driver works: psql, mysql, redis-cli, Prisma, SQLAlchemy, Eloquent.
How do I move my existing database in?
Dump it with pg_dump or mysqldump, then restore it into the new database with psql or mysql. For Valkey, point your app at the new address and the cache refills itself.
Which engine should I pick?
PostgreSQL is a good default for new apps. Pick MySQL for WordPress and most PHP apps, and Valkey (Redis-compatible) for caching, sessions and queues.
How am I billed?
Each database node is billed by the hour from when it is running, up to its monthly price. Extra disk is billed per GB per month.
