Create buckets, upload files, share links, versioning, object lock, lifecycle and CORS.
Create a bucket
Open Object Storage and choose Create bucket.
Name it: 3 to 63 lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. Names are shared by every ByteNests customer and cannot be changed.
Choose access: Private (only signed requests and share links) or Public read (anyone with a file URL can download it).
Choose protection: Versioning keeps older copies when a file is overwritten or deleted. Object lock makes files impossible to change or delete for a set time; it can only be turned on now and needs versioning.
Optionally set a size limit, an object limit, and delete files after a number of days.
You pay for what you store, download and request. Uploads are free. Downloads from a public bucket count as your egress.
Files
Open a bucket to upload (drag files in; files over 100 MB upload in parts automatically), create folders, download, delete, and edit a file’s content type and Cache-Control. Show versions lists older copies when versioning is on.
Share link makes a download link for one file that expires after 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days. The bucket stays private.
Bucket settings
Limits: Size and object limits. You get an email at 80% and 95%; at 100% uploads are refused and reads keep working.
Lifecycle rules: Delete files under a prefix (for example logs/) after a number of days. Rules run once a day.
CORS rules: Let web pages on other domains load or upload files in the browser. Edit in the form or as JSON.
Access and versioning: Switch between private and public read, and turn versioning on or off.
Danger zone: Empty the bucket, or delete it once it is empty.
Usage
Usage shows storage, egress and requests per day and per bucket, so you can see what drives the bill.
