Your own private cloud drive
Create a ByteNests cloud storage account, back up your phone, open your files from any computer and share folders, without handing your data to an ad company.
ByteNests cloud storage is a private drive for your files, photos and backups. Your files are not scanned for advertising, and nothing is shared unless you share it.
Object storage or cloud storage?
Made for: People: folders, photos and shared files.: Apps and scripts: media, backups and data over the S3 API.
Access: Drive and Photos in the browser, the phone app, WebDAV.: S3 tools and SDKs, console.
Billing: A plan by storage size.: By what you store, download and request.
For app data, see Getting started with object storage.
Step 1: create the account
Open Storage. If you have no storage yet, it opens the setup page.
Choose the storage size.
Pick a username (it is checked as you type) and a password of at least 12 characters.
Your storage is ready in about a minute. Open Drive at the top of the Storage page takes you to your files.
Step 2: back up your phone
Install the ByteNests Photos app, sign in with your ByteNests account and pick the storage account. New photos and videos upload on their own, and you can see them in Photos on bytenests.com.
Step 3: open it on your computer
In Drive, open Connect apps and make an app password for this computer.
Windows: in File Explorer choose Map network drive and paste the WebDAV address. macOS: in Finder choose Go › Connect to Server and paste it.
Sign in with your storage username and the app password.
Cyberduck, WinSCP and rclone work the same way, which is handy for scheduled backups.
Keep an eye on space
The Storage page shows how much space is used. If you need more room, choose Change plan: a bigger plan takes effect straight away, and your files stay where they are.
Deleting a storage account removes every file in it and cannot be undone. Download anything you need first.
